Word Lens is a camera application that allows you to easily translate things from different languages. The app takes the words in a picture and translates them into the language of your choice (if it’s supported by their translation packs). One of the coolest things about Word Lens is that it manages to make the translated image closely resemble the beginning image, as the text is properly formatted and fitted for the outcome. Another great feature that many users will be thankful for, especially users from different countries, is that Word Lens operates without a network connection. Think of Android’s new offline voice typing feature and how big of an impact it has on users who are constantly abroad and without a data connection. This for me is just one of those thing’s that would be cool to show off to a friend and can’t see myself using unless I travel. It’s still a great tool and shows huge advances on translation though.
