Verizon Galaxy Nexus an AOSP Device Once Again

A few hours ago, Google pushed the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean source code to AOSP. In addition to releasing binaries for the GSM Galaxy Nexus, Google released the binaries for the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon, also known as the ‘Toro’. This will allow for developers to build stock AOSP Android 4.1 ROMs for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Earlier this year, Google said that the Verizon Galaxy Nexus would no longer be considered an AOSP device. Last week, the Nexus S 4G on Sprint regained its AOSP tag, as well.
Keep in mind that this does not mean we will see an official update for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, as we are still relying on the carrier for the update.
