The Difference Between Liquipel and HzO

At CES, two companies showed off their waterproofing technology for mobile devices, but each take a different approach to accomplish the same end result.
Liquipel has developed a process that coats your devices with an incredibly thin protective layer, which permeates all of the vital components inside and out to provide optimal protection against accidental contact with liquids. The process is simple: the device is placed in a chamber, which is then filled with their unique waterproofing vapor. After a complete vapor bath, your device is protected. Liquipel’s technology is available now, and can be applied by sending your device to Liquipel, along with a payment of $59. It takes a couple of days to apply the coating and return your device to you. Read about HzO after the break. http://youtu.be/zjsWFvUkh7M
HzO, created by ZAGG, achieves the same result, but is different. First, it is not available to consumers. Instead, it will be marketed at mobile and tablet device manufacturers like Samsung and Apple to be used in the production process. Second, It is different from Liquipel’s approach by protecting the devices from the inside, on the molecular level, by shielding the individual components inside each device. The thin coating, called WaterBlock, provides a permanent, and self-healing, block against all moisture, protecting the device’s electronic components from liquids. Coated devices can still be used to play music, and are protected even when the SIM card and battery are exposed.
Chances are, you or someone you know has spilled coffee or some other type of liquid on a device or tablet. It is a very quick way to ruin your day and set you back several hundred dollars. Whether at the manufacturing level or at the option of the consumer, this is a must have protection for all of your devices. Especially when it only costs $60.
