ASUS Transformer Prime Gets Benchmarked, Shows Galaxy Nexus Who’s Boss The ASUS Transformer Prime is shaping up to be the first commercially available quad-core ARM tablet on the market. The Transformer Prime will sport nVidia's Tegra 3 SoC processor which sits on a 40nm die. nVidia claims Tegra 3 can outperform Intel's Core 2 Duo processors from a few years ago which would be a huge feat for ARM processors. Anyways, someone went ahead and benchmarked the Transformer Prime with AnTuTu on Android and the results are just jaw droppi...

Verizon 4G LTE Destroys Sprint WiMax in Speedtests   Well we can't say this was totally unexpected. Walter Piecyk and his team at BTIG Research pit 4G LTE and WiMax in a battle to the death of 1,000 speedtest benchmarks. Verizon's 4G LTE completely destroys WiMax by getting up to 10 times the download speeds. 4G LTE is like getting WiFi where ever you're at; the signal hardly fluctuates and will easily penetrate any building you're in. However, these tests were all done in New York City so Sprint's sp...

Motorola Xoom Now Overclocked to 1.5Ghz, Creates Wormholes Not even a full day after we reported the Motorola Xoom getting overclocked to 1.2Ghz, it has been overclocked even further to 1.5Ghz! The guy doing the dirty work again is Michael Huang (@coolbho3k), otherwise known as the developer of SetCPU for Android. He is also working on optimizing the SetCPU UI for tablets, which should be up soon. Two cores running at 1.5Ghz is insanely fast for a tablet, and once applications become optimized to use both cores, thing...

Motorola Xoom successfully Overclocked to 1.2Ghz Michael Huang (@coolbho3k), the developer of the ever so popular SetCPU application for Android, has successfully overclocked his Motorola Xoom to 1.2Ghz! Michael was also the first developer to overclock the T-Mobile G2 when it first launched. In Linpack the device scores 40.716 MFLOPS, which may not sound like much, but Linpack is a single-core benchmarking tool meaning one of the two cores goes untested. Once these benchmark applications become optimized to t...

Quadrant is a piece of Android software developed by Aurora Softworks. Today, famed Android developer Cyanogen posted a troubling tweet about the flaws of Aurora Softworks' Quadrant application. He specifically pointed to the I/O portion of the...

Developers Work On Galaxy S I/O Problems Today, Android developers brought phones to new heights seeing some of the highest scores of all time in benchmarking tools like Quadrant. Since the release of the Samsung Galaxy S in July, benchmarkers have consistently reported very good CPU and GPU scores. But until now, the Samsung-Intrinsity Hummingbird has been unable to fulfill its full potential due to poor system write/read and database write/read speeds. In fact, this has caused extremely signific...
