Google Wallet now Available for Galaxy Nexus on AT&T and Verizon Since it was announced some time ago in 2011, Google Wallet has been completely exclusive to the Sprint Nexus S 4G. Every carrier other than Sprint has opposed the Google Wallet program and blocked it from being installed on their devices as they were preparing their own proprietary NFC payments system called Iris. That didn't stop people from hacking Google Wallet and installing it onto non-Sprint Nexi, but still, we'd like to see more support from the carrie...

Atrix 4G to Receive Update for Gingerbread, Not Android 4.0 Motorola and AT&T will soon push out an update for the Atrix 4G— the carrier's first dual-core phone that was released early last year. The gang at Motorola has divulged to beta testers that a soak test for the new software update will begin this next week. AT&T: 9.4 Million Smartphones, 7.6 Million iPhones in Q4 2011 AT&T's come out with their fourth quarter results today. And, not to be outdone by fellow competitor Verizon, they're reporting 9.4 million smartphones sold in the fourth quarter. 7.6 million of those devices were iPhones, including the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 as well as the newer one. That means we're looking at fewer than 1.8 million Android sales— likely far fewer given the impacts of Windows Phone and BlackBerry devices. Verizon, AT&T's top comp...

Nokia Lumia 900 to Launch March 18th on AT&T for $99.99? BGR has allegedly received a portion of the AT&T roadmap for 2012 that indicates a March 18th launch for Nokia's brand new Windows Phone-- the Lumia 900. The more interesting part of the leak is the rumored $99.99 price tag, which would undercut many of the top selling high-end smartphones of the day. If true, this could signal a marketing strategic shift on AT&T, Microsoft, or Nokia's part. A lower price point may attract reluctant smartphone users to...

AT&T: Sprint Exploiting Roaming Laws for “Disinvestment” in Own Network AT&T's Bob Quinn posted up a damning article today regarding Sprint's recent network deal in Kansas and Oklahoma. The deal allows Sprint to rely on roaming deals to cut costs, leaving much of western Oklahoma to rely on alternate carriers to provide network data and voice capabilities. The FCC's rulings on the roaming issue last year require carriers to provide both voice and data networks in rural areas. AT&T and Verizon both voiced their oppositio...

Will Your City’s T-Mobile Coverage Benefit from AT&T Spectrum Transfer? AT&T was recently forced to give up $1 billion of spectrum in their loss of the T-Mobile buyout. Luckily for T-Mo, Ma Bell will transfer all of the pink spectrum you see above (provided that the FCC authorizes the deal). The added spectrum should offer AWS and GSM band improvements in some of the following major cities: Baltimore Boston San Francisco Oakland Washington, D.C. San Diego Seattle Atlanta Kansas City, MO San Jose San ...
