Source Claims iPad Mini Production Will Begin in September

Rumors of the iPad Mini continue to pour in. The latest rumor comes from Japanese Mac blog Macotakara. The blog assures us that the iPad Mini does in fact exist and mass production will begin in September. It will supposedly be made by Foxconn Brazil. The site also says that the device will have 3G and be just as thin as the current generation iPod Touch, which comes in at 7.2 mm.

This agrees with The Wall Street Journal’s report from earlier this week, which said the device would enter production in September and that “a launch for the device is near.”

The iPad Mini will reportedly compete directly against the Kindle Fire and Nexus 7 and will cost $249.
