The Sony Xperia Z3v is a top notch phone, and its sleek, black monolithic design gives it a good look. The thin, cool look with the black glass and metal edges gives the phone a good classy look. The phone has black glass on both sides, and it is slightly chunkier and thicker than the Xperia Z2. But the phone has a plastic bumper type edge, which gives it a less expensive feel than Z3.
This phone has a 5.2 inch IPS display along with a full HD resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixel. Thus, it gives the phone a good colour quality and brightness and is one of the best displays in the market. The other competing phones available in the market with Quad HD displays with higher resolutions and better displays have a lower batter life time.
The sound quality too is great, and the narrow speaker grilles on either side pump out high-quality music. The sound of movies and games is good and for high volume, headphones can be used. The camera available in this phone is similar to Xperia Z3 and it’s a 20.7 megapixel rear camera with a wide angle 27mm Sony G lens and great video recording capacity, making it a good, smart phone available in market. Sony’s camera app has several modes to include a superior auto mode as well.
This is an Android 4.4.4 but also available as Android Lollipop 5.0. Sony’s own Video Unlimited player and store, the Walkman music app lifelog fitness software and the PlayStation app for remote streaming is very useful.
The battery life is good, and it has a 3200mAh battery and this supports Qi inductive charging and in this way if you have a charging mat you can lay down the phone and it will charge up. The phone comes with a micro USB cable and power adapter. Charging takes a while to get it on full battery.
This latest handset is powered by a 2.5GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor into the device alongside 3GB of RAM. There is an internal storage of 32GB, and it is expandable with a microSD card so that one has enough memory capacity.
This is a phone in real demand and as positives it is waterproof, with a bright, crisp screen with a decent battery and great camera. But some find that there are many unnecessary apps and the slippery glass back can be a little un-protective too.
