According to Chinese sources, Sony is planning to launch a phone that will make your jaw drop. The Sony LT29i “Hayabusa” (codename) is expected to hit markets this summer with an incredible, unprecedented spec sheet. The device will sport a Snapdragon S4 Pro (the one with an upgraded GPU) next-gen chipset for optimal performance. But, that’s not all. According to the Chinese source, the “Hayabusa” comes with a 13-megapixel stacked camera sensor with HDR video functionality and best-in-class low-light performance. This bad boy also includes a 4.55-inch HD Reality Display, on-screen buttons, and a 2200 mAh battery for lasting power. The best part? All of this goodness was fit into one tiny little ~7-millimeter thick handset.

A prototype device is pictured above. The actual device may hit the smartphone markets with a June announcement and July launch according to the rumor. It may end up being called the Xperia GX. If this rumor turns true, it’ll be abundantly clear that Sony’s turned over a new leaf in their smartphone department.

Wanna know just how good that camera is? No problem. Check out some early samples below. Update: turns out these sample photos were taken from a similar device: LT28at. Both phones have the same camera sensor technology from Sony.
