Samsung has already confirmed that it plans to launch its first Tizen-powered smartphone later this year. Samsung Mobile executive vice president Lee Young Hee went as far as promising that this will be a flagship device with “the best specifications.” A UAProf (User-Agent Profile) file on Samsung’s own website may have just revealed this device, the GT-I8805.
The UAProf file reveals only a few device about the device reportedly codenamed Redwood. It suggests that it will be powered by Tizen (likely version 2.1 as the source code and SDK were just released) and will come with a Cortex-A9 processor and an HD (720×1280) display of unspecified size.
If those specifications are accurate, this so-called flagship device may not be quite up to the standards set by the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Perhaps those flagship specifications will be reserved for the second Tizen device, the GT-I8800 which goes by the codename Melius, that Samsung is reportedly working on as well.
