Samsung Galaxy S II

In compliance with Google’s Android source code requirements, Samsung’s unleashed the code for their Galaxy S II today.  With this release, Android developers will be able to begin modifying and creating custom kernels to outfit their new devices. Of course, the Galaxy S II is already rooted using a modified kernel from developer Chainfire.

Those looking to dive into the source code behind this intriguing device can check out Samsung’s Open Source website. Also, check out the GitHub repository here from one of our favorite French developers: Supercurio!

All devs are advised and very welcome to use the community git repository instead:

Unmodified up-to-date kernel sources available, as well as required initramfs.

Git is key to developer collaboration (created by Linus in this purpose) and this one is exactly here in this purpose.
