Riptide GP for Tegra-Powered Android Devices
For those of you out there eagerly awaiting the arrival of Riptide GP in the Android Market, you needn’t wait any longer. The spiritual successor to the popular Hydro Thunder series, which is in fact produced by the team responsible for Hydro Thunder Hurricane on the Xbox 360, have finally released their fast paced, wave-racer to the tune of $6.99. Is it worth your hard earned cash? Jump past the break to find out!
We’ll keep this short so that you can get off of your computer, pick up your Tegra 2-powered device, and purchase this app. Here’s a quick run down of why you want this game.

Riptide GP for Android
Pros:
- Simply amazing visuals
- Astonishing physics thanks to the Tegra 2′s PhysX support, enabling water complexity not possible through CPU processing alone
- Buttery smooth game play, with nary a hint of slow down even with many opponents and visual effects on screen
- Incredibly fun concept
- It’s basically the Hydro Thunder you know and love, but better.
Cons:
- Perhaps the only possible “con” is the fact that this release is for Tegra devices only. However, this restriction is what affords the game such amazing visuals and smooth performance.
Basically, the short answer to the aforementioned question is: HELL YES, THIS GAME IS WORTH YOUR MONEY!
Words cannot describe staring at the visuals and complex physics while playing Riptide on your mobile device. The frame rate, details, and polish of the game are unlike anything this editor has ever seen on a game for a mobile device to date. Riptide GP for Tegra platform truly is a console quality experience. In fact, Riptide GP would give some current generation console games a run for their money.
