NVIDIA Releases Tegra 3 Promotional Video
Filed under News by Kenneth Pennington on October 18, 2011 at 4:28 PMWe’ve been anticipating NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 processor ever since the Tegra 2 announcement in 2010. Now, it looks like we’re getting another glimpse of the Tegra 3, labeled “Kal-El.”
A short promotional video (above) shows off all of the great new things about the Kal-El platform. Obviously, the Tegra 3 will be a 40nm quad-core processor. It’ll feature a twelve-core GPU for extremely powerful graphical interpretation. Other cool features include support for resolutions up to 2560 x 1600, a 1.5 GHz default clock speed, and an ultra low power GPU mode for battery saving.
According to NVIDIA, the Tegra 3 offers console-quality gaming, faster multi-tasking, longer battery life, and up to five times more speed than the Tegra 2. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to that kind of raw power inside of a smartphone or tablet.
Tablets and smartphones with the Tegra 3 processor are expected at the tail-end of 2011 and very beginning of 2012 respectively.
