Just when everyone thought the Nexus rumors would slow down, another rumor has popped up. DigiTimes is reporting that a Nexus 10 tablet is in the pipeline. According to industry sources, Google has placed an order for 10-inch touch panels from AU Optronics (AUO) and Wintek. Wintek already supplied Google with 500,000 7-inch panels for the Nexus 7 this June. The manufacturer has supplied ASUS and Google with over one million screens total from May through July.
When the Nexus 10 will launch, is unclear. If the Nexus 7 really takes off, as it supposedly has, we’d expect the tablet to launch sooner rather than later. The biggest key for the Nexus 10, should it exist, is the price. What could Google manufacture it for that would be considered affordable? $300?
One thing to note is the source of this rumor. DigiTimes has not been the most reliable source before by any means, so take this rumor with a grain of salt.
