Slashgear‘s Epic 4G review is in with new information about the Sprint exclusive (sort of) Samsung Galaxy S device. For months Samsung has been playing up its Media Hub addition on Galaxy S phones. But until now, we haven’t gotten much of a glimpse of this service aside from a “Not yet available. Please check again later.” message on the Captivate, Vibrant, and i9000.

Now, we’ve got video details about the Samsung Media Hub application for Sammy Android phones. We’ve got Slashgear’s video overview of Media Hub below.

The Media Hub will feature movies and television shows for rent or purchase. Rent prices should be around $2.99 as shown in the video, while buy prices may be near $12.99. According to our previous interviews with Samsung representation, “Media Hub video content will be perfectly tailored to the Galaxy S’ 4-inch Super AMOLED screen.” You can expect 800 x 480 resolution videos or something similar.

What’s better: Media Hub will allow for streaming high quality content. That means you’ll be able to purchase or rent your content and watch it as it downloads. Little to no waiting. Meanwhile, your iPhone 4 toting friends will be stuck waiting for their iTunes DVD-sized videos to load before watching.

The only downside is that Media Hub content will only allow you to download over WiFi or Sprint 4G. In that way, the Epic 4G has a major hand up over the international Galaxy S, AT&T Captivate, T-Mobile Vibrant, and Verizon Fascinate which all sport 3G only.

Galaxy S phone owners should expect the eventual release of Media Hub in September of this year.
