Motorola Photon Q Comes With Unlockable Bootloader

Motorola’s Photon Q will come with an unlockable bootloader, says Motorola. After years of device releases with locked bootloaders, the company says it’s finally ready to provide an unlock solution for future phones. While past phones may never be unlocked, other products “will have this option too in the future.”
An unlocked bootloader will allow developers to create full custom ROMs and custom kernels. The Photon Q comes with a 4.3-inch qHD display, 1785 mAh battery, 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4, 8-megapixel camera, and 4G LTE on Sprint. Of course, it’s also packing a beautiful 5-row slideout keyboard a la the DROID series on Verizon.

Buying this the second it’s available!
At this point, I’ll believe it when I see it. I don’t trust Motorola anymore.
I think it’s too little, too late. If a popular flagship were unlocked, maybe, but this is at best a middling phone with a qHD display and a sub-200mAh battery, and so it wont generate the positive press that Moto wants.
