Motorola Droid X Benchmark Tested

We’ve been hearing a lot about how great that TI OMAP 3640 processor in the Droid X runs, so many of us mobile phone lovers have been eager to check out some more benchmark tests from the device. Have no fear, Android Central is here to benchmark the Droid X!

As you can see in the video below, the Droid X’s dedicated GPU runs amazingly. We’re looking at some great Quadrant scores and some really solid Linpack benchmarks as well.

Without the Android 2.2 Froyo update, we’re seeing this phone fly with scores of ~8 MFLOPS on Linpack. That’s compared to ~5 MFLOPS on the Snapdragon processor in the HTC EVO 4G. Wow! The Nexus One with Android 2.2 Froyo scored ~35 and ~39 MFLOPS.

Then, in Quadrant, we see this superphone score a brilliant 1131. Compared to the Froyo Nexus One’s 1304, and the Eclair EVO 4G’s 419. Since we’ve already seen a Motorola Droid original score a 1785 with Android 2.2 Froyo, we’re very intrigued to see what the Droid X will do with the new JIT Compiler in Froyo 2.2.

What do you think? Will we be seeing scores of ~3000 plus [with Quadrant] on this device when it’s overclocked on Froyo?
