We’ve only just reviewed Motorola’s latest QWERTY phone, the Droid 4, and it’s already been overclocked by developers. Using existing modules workable for all OMAP4 devices— such as the RAZR, Kindle Fire, Bionic, Atrix 2, and Droid 3— developers have pumped the Droid 4 up to 1.4 GHz. The CPU seems to be stable at 1.388 GHz, and users are able to overclock the GPU as well.
The phone’s plenty fast out of the box. But, if you’re a speed demon, hit up the OPPtimizer Project’s Google Code site to download your correct module. Remember to be careful with your brand new devices!
