More LG Nexus Pictures Appear — 8MP, S4 Pro, 8GB Storage
Filed under Rumors by Kenneth Pennington on October 10, 2012 at 8:42 AMAn XDA-Developers user has posted some photos and details revealing more of the new LG Nexus device we saw yesterday. The prototype he’s using includes a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel camera, a 1184 x 768 resolution, and Android “JellyBeanMR1.” He reported that an SD card was not to be found on the device. Size-wise, the device looks to be about the same as the Galaxy Nexus. It’s not a phone-tablet hybrid like the Galaxy Note.
What do y’all think of the next Nexus?

8GB of storage and no card slot makes me sad. The OS and apps will take up a good chunk of that. There is probably 4-5GB left over. :-(
How many apps do you have installed on your Android device? I have quite a few and I’m only at 744 MB (including app data). Pictures and videos are taking up about 700 additional MB for me. Music is at 1.5 GB. Downloads 181 MB.
I would have a lot less trouble with these smaller storage phones if:
1) My commute to work wasn’t underground (without solid service for streaming)
2) Streaming, downloading, and pulling things from the cloud didn’t use up so much data (which costs a lot nowadays)
I miss SD cards and unlimited data plans.
offline maps (NDrive) suck up 3GB for me :-P My music sucks up another 4GB :-P
Lot of maps there! Thanks for commenting.
4 GB of music makes a lot of sense to me. My 1.5 GB on-device collection is rather puny.
Offline maps from other vendors are frequently much easier to install than in Google Maps. I wish Google Maps would let me grab whole states at once instead of little squares.
I have 0.97GB of apps, but the Atrix seems to pre-allocate 1.97GB for apps. Strangely though, it says I only have 345MB left.
I have a little less than 4GB of music right now. I like to have at least that much on hand for some variety.
I try to scrape by on the lowest AT&T data plan, since I have wifi access most of the time.
I wish they would offer a slightly more expensive version with the 13MP camera and SDcard slot…
For me, ideally there would be just one version and it would have both of those things. ;)
