Android fans are used to lengthy waits on the operating system update front. Three months here, six months there. Many users are just now getting Ice Cream Sandwich updates, several months after the October 2011 release. Undoubtedly, some manufacturers are quicker than others with Android updates. ASUS has consistently proved itself in the update wars, often upgrading their tablet selection just months after the source code drop for new versions of Android.
Samsung may be looking to speed up their update schedule with a quick Jelly Bean upgrade for their flagship Galaxy S III. According to SamMobile, Android 4.1 for the Galaxy S III is already in “testing” over at Samsung HQ. The update may be ready as early as August or September, says SamMobile.
If Samsung pulls off a Jelly Bean update in August, I’ll eat my proverbial hat.
