HTC’s almost ready to launch their new ‘One’ series Android phones— the One X, One S, and One V. We’ve heard about the products’ great internals. But what about the build quality behind these tech titans? Thanks to HTC, eager fans were treated to a brand new video explanation of HTC’s unibody ceramic metal chassis available on the One S. According to the famed Taiwanese manufacturer, the new One S chassis was subjected to some intense micro arc oxidation during the manufacturing process.
The One S starts out with aircraft-quality aluminum, then the technicians at HTC zap it with ~10,000 volts of electricity. Why? Apparently the process strengthens the metal, making it three times stronger than stainless steel.
It’s rumored that the new Galaxy S III flagship from Samsung will also feature a ceramic metal chassis. Of course, the HTC One S will be available on T-Mobile in the States “soon.”
Without further ado, watch the video below.
