HTC EVO 3D & Sensation Get Temp-Rooted, Full Root Coming Soon!

HTC Sensation & EVO 3D
With HTC working to unlock the bootloaders on the EVO 3D and Sensation, owners of these two phones are in great hands. Soon everyone will be able to install custom roms, overclock, and uninstall bloatware to their heart’s desires! Developers over on XDA have managed to temp-root both the EVO 3D and Sensation, giving everyone access to use Titanium Backup and other various root-only tasks. They are working very hard on a full root which should be ready in the coming weeks. Hit the break for instructions on temp-rooting along with download links!
J.eremy over on XDA created a script that will automatically temp-root the EVO 3D and Sensation using Fre3vo. It works for Windows, Max, and Linux based computers.
Windows Users
- Download the file: Direct Download
- Reboot the phone and plug into your computer (make sure USB Debugging is on)
- Run the root.bat file and you’re good to go!
Mac/Linux Users
- Make sure ADB is in your PATH, meaning you can run ADB from anywhere by typing in “adb”.
- Download and extract the file: Direct Download
- Make sure the script has execute permissions
chmod +x root
- Plug the phone into your computer and turn on USB Debugging
- Execute the script
./root
