AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G LTE
Only a few days out from AT&T’s big 4G LTE phone launch with the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, and users already have a working root method. Thanks to the Revolutionary team, the “zergRush” binary roots the brand new Skyrocket with ease.

Click past the break for full instructions thanks to a “one click” program from ACSyndicate.

Prerequisites

How To: Root Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket

  1. Install the Samsung drivers.
  2. Download the Skyrocket-Easy-Root package
  3. Plug your Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket device into your computer.
    • We recommend using back-of-the-computer USB ports. They tend to be more power reliable.
  4. Extract the Skyrocket-Easy-Root package.
  5. On Windows, install “root.bat”
  6. On Mac or Linux computers, install “Linux-Mac.sh”
  7. Congratulations! You’ve achieved temporary root.

I don’t get it. What does click past the break mean?

  • Anonamouse

rje, “click past the break” means that if you are reading this article on the front page news feed, you only see the top half of the article.  You have to click the “Read More” button in the corner of the post to see the rest of the article.  If you’re viewing the article on a page by itself (i.e. you can see all the way down to step 7), you don’t need to “click past the break” because you can already see the whole article.

Maybe this is common sense to some:

After you plug your Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket device into your computer, make sure you open My Computer and right-click -> Disconnect all drives that are listed which belong to the Samsung. If you’re uncertain as to which belong, unplug/replug the Samsung and note which drives disappear/reappear.

If you fail to do this, the root script will hang and/or fail.

problems after rooting t-mobile SGS2. everything works fine except music/pandora via headphones is barely audible(even after maxing out media volume, maybe the amplifier got screwed up with this s/w version), and the wifi tethering hotspot auto turns off after 10 seconds(i was keeping the screen awake to see this) and no wpa encryption.

I unrooted the phone back, and the music/pandora via headphones plays loud and clear, and the wifi tethering works like a charm with wpa encryption.

Does anyone else have the same problems?? and any possible fixes?
