Siri may be a great advancement, but it does lack some functionality, namely the inability to interact with other applications.  How great would it be if users were able to tell Siri to update a Facebook status, send a message on Google+, or submit a tweet?  Well, thanks to Techland, now you can.  Learn how, after the break.

Update a Facebook Status

Text “Hello” to 32665 (this code only works in the U.S.), then follow the link in the reply to finish the setup process.  Add the code to your Contacts and name it “Facebook.” After you have saved “Facebook” in your contacts, tell Siri to “send a text to Facebook saying …” and it will update your Facebook status.

Send a Message on Google+

Visit your settings page and scroll down to “Set delivery preferences.” Add your cell phone number, but be sure to click “don’t notify me” if you do not want incoming Google+ messages by text. Verify your number with the code you receive by phone, then add the short code “33669” (in the U.S.) to your contacts as “Google Plus.” Updates are shared with everyone in your circles.

Submit a Tweet

Text “START” to 40404 (this code only works in the U.S.), then respond with your username, then your password.  Add the short code to your Contacts with the name “Twitter.” After you have saved “Twitter” in your contacts, tell Siri to “send a text to Twitter saying …” Don’t forget that you only have 140 characters.
