Google has announced today that they will begin to use a new service titled ‘Bouncer’ to automatically scan the Android Market for malicious software. The service will run continuously and automatically scan each uploaded application file through the Android Market back-end. It looks for malware, spyware, and trojans while also detecting red flags based on application behavior. That data is cross-referenced against an Android device simulation through Google’s cloud. Developer accounts will be under fire, too. If a developer continues to upload malicious applications, Google will be able to prevent them from uploading new ones.
