Samsung is getting closer to a delivery on its promise to bring Android 2.2 Froyo to the whole Galaxy S lineup by the end of the year. Today, after months of hard work on a Touchwiz-ified version of Google’s Android 2.2 operating system, Samsung has released the open source code for its Galaxy S I9000 device for Android 2.2 Froyo.

This allows users to check out what’s behind the Galaxy S in Android 2.2 form and create custom ROMs as well as custom kernels based off of the code. The title of the latest build is “JPM” and it is a European general build.

Want to check out the source code? Head over to Samsung Open Source Center.
