ASUS Transformer Prime Gets Benchmarked, Shows Galaxy Nexus Who’s Boss

Filed under News by Coty Spence on November 5, 2011 at 7:28 PM

The ASUS Transformer Prime is shaping up to be the first commercially available quad-core ARM tablet on the market. The Transformer Prime will sport nVidia’s Tegra 3 SoC processor which sits on a 40nm die. nVidia claims Tegra 3 can outperform Intel’s Core 2 Duo processors from a few years ago which would be a huge feat for ARM processors.

Anyways, someone went ahead and benchmarked the Transformer Prime with AnTuTu on Android and the results are just jaw dropping. When compared to the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Nexus, the Transformer Prime simply steamrolls them. The Galaxy devices score around 6,000 while the Prime scores around 10,000. 6,000 is a very respectable score, especially with those powerful 1.2Ghz dual-core processors, but 10,000 is just stupidly high. Hopefully the Transformer Prime can make use of all that power! Benchmark screenshot after the break!

That just proves how powerful the Quad-core processors are, and that GALAXY Nexus will be outdated by early next year.

I don’t care. I’m tired of buying a new Android every 3-5 months. After I get the Nexus, I’m keeping it until the next one comes out. The screen is finally the right size, and its powerful. Its been a few years since I’ve kept a phone for more than a few months. I’m not gonna give in to the “a better device is right around the corner” booby trap no mo.

I’ve been carrying the nexus one for two years now and never had a problem with it. Once the galaxy nexus is for sale, I will grab one and will be gone for another two years. Simple as that.
