ASUS announced earlier this month that it shipped nearly 1 million Nexus 7s in October. The grand total, however, was not announced. Though DigiTimes is now reporting that suppliers are on track to ship more than 5 million units total in 2012. If you do the math, given that the device launched in July, Google sold more than 1 million Nexus 7s on average each month. Shipments will most likely pick up steam this quarter, as an HSPA+ model of the device launched and the 16GB variant dropped in price. The report notes that most manufacturers peak their production in late October and November, but ASUS intends to continue its full production through the end of the year.
