The folks over at AndroidPolice have dug up a very interesting discovery inside of a leaked Android 4.2 build. Apparently, a future Android update will bring the operating system a quick settings tray in the notifications drop-down. Users will be able to pull down this mysterious quick settings area with a second swipe down from the notifications drop-down.
Unlike quick settings creations from Samsung, LG, and HTC, the new default Android implementation will be “separate screens,” meaning they will not be viewable on top or to the side of the actual notifications themselves. It’s possible that the implementation will also allow itself to be triggered by a two-finger swipe down. This is all conjecture, of course.
