Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
Google finally released the source code behind the latest version of the Android operating system — version 4.0, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s available via the Android Open-Source Project Git servers, but we’re warned that a download will potentially take hours. The actual version of Android published was Android 4.0.1– the same build seen on the newly announced Galaxy Nexus device.
Source code will allow ROM developers and Android hackers to get busy porting the operating system to new devices.
