Dabble HD
Today’s Amazon FREE App of the Day is Dabble HD, and to start off I confess this game is really hard! And the instructions themselves remind me of playing some FPS games on my PC – I had to write down the rules and objectives so I knew what I was supposed to do. No more U-U-D-D-L-R-L-R-B-A-Start simplicity here! That being said, once I got past learning how to play the game it’s become quite addictive. As of writing this, I have spent almost two hours playing the game.
The objective of the game is to arrange the 20 letters into 5 words on a pyramid in the following way:
- 2-letter word
- 3-letter word
- 4-letter word
- 5-letter word
- 6-letter word
You have five minutes in which to do so, and you’re score is calculated based on the words completed and the time left. Here’s one of my successful pyramids:

One issue that I reported to the developer is that if you press the main back button on your phone, instead of going back in the application it actually exits the application. And in my case, to add insult to injury, I had hit the back button by accident and the app didn’t recover and I had to restart.
That being said, this is one of the better word games I have seen come through the Amazon Free App of the Day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I am.
