5 New Marketing Techniques for Modern Websites

Many marketing experts will tell you that the old ways of online marketing must never be abandoned. You still have to use email, feature videos on YouTube, and of course think about SEO. But now you can do more; from the onslaught of various social media platforms to apps that let you chat with your favourite celebrity, this is an exciting time for website marketing.

It’s not that you have to abandon SEO and email marketing. Rather, if you want to keep up with the competition, you need to do a whole lot more. Here are some ways to use modern tech for more meaningful engagements with potential customers.

  1. Video Chat

If you have a well-established site already, then you should have lots of connections in your industry. Some of these connections may be well-known enough as to qualify as celebs, so you can give your website visitors a thrill (and make money blogging)  by letting them have a video chat with celebrity guests. Or you can have a video chat with people. You may even have your customer support do video chats too, which can prove very helpful.

  1. Social media platforms

There are many ways to use Facebook, twitter, and Instagram to help promote your website and business through social media marketing marketing techniques. This may be a bit time-consuming, but nowadays it’s a very effective way to reach teens and young adults. Just make sure that your social media content is fun and interesting—people can be turned off by blatant advertising.

  1. Apps

The right app can make your website become more popular. That’s because they can offer features not found on your regular website. An app can also function as a convenient bookmark for your website, so that people will find it easier to find your site. At the very least, your app can lead your visitors to a mobile-ready version of your website, so that the design of your pages is geared properly to the dimensions of a smartphones window.

  1. Remarketing

Not very many know what remarketing is. It’s a way for the visitors of your website to see ads promoting your site and your products—when they visit another website. Your brand can then be visible to these people days or even months after they’ve visited your website. This is a great way to advertise to people who have visited your website but didn’t make a purchase.

This is a set of tools you use to gather data regarding the performance of your ads, website pages, and content. It’s very helpful, but you’d be surprised to discover that not many are using it properly, if at all. With analytics, you can discover what website designs, fonts, colors, are good for your landing pages, ads, newsletters, and surveys.

Of course you can (and should) continue using marketing basics like SEO. But, now you can do a lot more. By using new marketing technologies like video chats and remarketing, you can stay ahead of your competition.
